Giving Takes Time

Volunteers are essential to Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Nearly 20 percent of the food we receive must be sorted and packaged before it’s delivered to people in need. Whether it’s one day a year or a few hours a week, your hands-on contributions of time and energy help us get food where and when it’s needed most.

One person or a big group. Weekday and several evenings and weekends. Morning or evening. We work with you to arrange a volunteer opportunity that suits you.

Ways To Give

Food Reclamation and Repacking

Volunteers repacking a large donation of plums that were repacked into smaller portions for agency distribution. What is it? We Inspect and determine the safety of donated foods that were damaged at the grocery store and taken off the shelves. Or label, sort, and repack food into usable sizes.

Volunteers will be on their feet and moving around for the time that they're here (breaks are allowed). There is lifting involved - our boxes weigh between 10 and 20 pounds. We DO NOT have any sit down jobs in the warehouse. Since we are dependent on donations, there are several different projects you may find yourself working on during your volunteer shift with us.
